I brought a new American Standard Fender Tele about a month ago and want to replace the pickguard on it.There is a screw on each side of neck pickup that goes through the pickguard itself.I'm assuming these screws are holding the pickup to the guard.I know there are springs under there for pickup adjustment. Is this a complicated thing to do.I don't want to screw it up.Thanks in advance for any help, it will be greatly appreciated .

Nothing complicated at all, just don't lose the springs when you take it apart, and put everything back the way it was. Some guys replace the springs with short lengths of surgical tubing because it stays in place better than the springs. |

Another thing to be aware of..The number of screws holding the pick guard..If yours happens to be a 5 screw and you replace it with an 8 screw guard you will have to drill holes..Never know about Fenders..PJ... |
