Have some of the members had a chance to play any of the Jerry Jones baritone guitars, and if so what would your opinions be of them compared to say your run of the mill re-issure DanElectros or a Fender Bass Six?
If this isn't a suitable place for this question would the moderator please move it? _________________ Doug Earnest

Doug, I've got one and it's excellent. Danos have the name, but I don't think they have the intonatable bridge, right?
I did have a chance to try several. Some had that pingie "bad strat" sound on the trebles, so I picked one that didn't.
Baritones are a great string length/tension combination, tuned to B. |

I Had (recently sold) a Dano, but I tried a Jerry Jones and thought it was better.
However I don't like the 30 inch scale. The frets are so far apart on the lower positions that chords like C and F become uncomfortable.
There are some other baritone guitars with 27 and 28 inch scales. I suggest trying out both the Dano or Jerry Jones with the 30 inch scale, and some of these with shorter scales and see if you might prefer one of those. _________________ Please visit my web site and Soundcloud page and listen to the music posted there.

I've played the JJ Baritone. Definitely nicer quality than a Dano. I have a Dano that I put a hardtail Strat bridge on. But they're both still "stiff-playing" guitars. So I decided to build my own, using a Warmoth conversion neck.
My Baritone Strat. Warmoth neck and body. Custom Shop pups. Strung B to B with these gauges. .012, .017, .022P, .038, .050, .064. With the plain 3rd string, it plays like a Strat with 10s or 11s. You can do anything; double string bends, oblique bends, etc. I experimented with a lot of different gauges to get a set that works this way. No wound 3rd string! Hoorah!

Thanks guys!
John, that is a nice guitar.
I have a chance to take a JJ in on trade but not really sure how much money I want to allow on it. _________________ Doug Earnest
