It's a good thing they let him practice 'on the inside' when he was young... |

You should have seen him playing lead guitar with his hard-rock band a few years after that picture was taken...
He was great at that too but I'm glad he went back to steel! |

Yeah me too Sonny.... think long about then he was pickin on the Lincoln Jamboree with my dear ole Dad Boogie on lead guitar... Tommy told me that he learned a lot about what the folks in the audience like to hear from Dad... he said one night at the Jamboree, dad leaned over to him and said.. "Hey Hoss, just pick it easy for the folks so they can understand it"... or somethin like that.... And Tommy said to me just last month down at the Opry.. "I'm sure glad I listened to ole Boog back then because I been on the Opry now 23 years" .. I think Dad and Tommy have a mutual admiration society amongst the 2 of them! |

I got that album when it first came out. I was knocked out by his playing even then.
Latterly, Tommy can be seen playing his MSA Millennium in this clip. Sounds great. Mind you, everything he plays sounds great.

Great hair, great guitar, great stool... What's up with the chain link fence?
Was he in a low level incarceration at that point?
Tommy's one of my heros

I read somewhere that the picture was taken at Buudy Emmons house. Correct me if I'm wrong. Great album for sure.
