Well the time has come where I have had to come to grips with letting my last vintage Fender go to another home/player. I purchased her back in 1990 from George Gruhn in Nashville and will supply the original receipt if desired. Finish is 100% stock. She is fitted with the stock tremolo system and currently is set up with three springs. GREAT intonation. The neck date is Nov of 64 B. The pots and the pickups (grey bottoms dated 64) are stock as is the cloth wiring. The selector has been replaced along with a five way switch, the trem cover and the tremolo bar, which are replacements. She has tone to die for and plays like a dream. I contacted Gruhn some months ago and he wanted to list the guitar (for a 20% consignment fee) and stated she was a $25+K guitar all day. I got cold feet at the time and backed out of selling her. I am in a position now where I have to sell her as I am looking at a knee replacement and a couple months of therapy. Kind of dictates my priorities. This guitar is everything one looks for in a Pre-CBS rosewood fingerboard Strat and it is an honest 64 through and through. I don't play games and this guitar isn't an exception. She comes with the stock ash tray and the original case. I will offer it here first for $20,000 before moving onto other methods. Price is firm. This is a serious sale and I don't need any game playing. Serious inquiries only and sorry NO trades considered. Thanks for your time.

I want to thank everyone for the nice comments and interest. At present I have four individuals considering the purchase. I will update with a common question of pot dates. I know they are 64 but I don't recall the numbers. I will post those in the next couple days. Thanks again everyone. |
