I have an album called 40 years of duets by George and friends. I love this song, and wondered who was the steel player -- Buddy? Sounds like him on an early Emmons.

Anyone know?

Thanks!

It is possible that the steel player is Sonny Curtis but I don't know for sure.

George's original of this song was done in 1962 with Margie Singleton. No credits listed on the lp cover but it could possibly have been Jimmy Day. Sure doesn't sound like Pete Drake.

Buddy did play on some of George's early cuts.I believe when he was on Musicor(spelling?) One that comes to mind is "Don't Stop the Music" Jody.
