Hey Guys,

I've got an unpainted (all walnut)quad stringmaster that I want to restore. It had been previously parted out so I need quite a few parts. I'm not a stickler for original parts. I just want to get it up and running. Hopefully I'll be able to find parts that aren't too expensive but of decent quality and will approximate the originals.

I don't know too much about this instrument other than what I've aleady said anyway this is what I need:

Bridges and bridge covers
1 pickup
1 set of the tuning peg assembly (furthest neck)
pickup rings

The key thing here are the bridges. I'm not going anywhere without them. I don't know how these guitars specs changed over the years. So if you have any questions about the dimensions on the guitar I'll do my best to get accurate measurements.

Thanks a million,

Denis

I found that seymour duncan makes an Antiquity pickup that looks pretty good.

Does anyone out there have any ideas for a bridge that would sub for the original? Are there any guys out there building steels that might have a similar bridge as the Stringmaster?

Thanks again,

Denis

If you could get a pattern, you might find a machine shop that could make one out of aluminum or brass which could be chromed.

There have been a bunch of Stringmaster bridge plates on ebay lately. Also J.K. Lutherie has some bridges and parts.
Just do a search of completed auctions on Ebay.

I don't know if It makes any difference in regard to the bridge but the scale is 26". The guitar doesn'thave any blend pots either- only switches.

I tried JK Lutherie I don't see anything bridges that would work. Getting a machinist to make the pickup plates is probably the way I'm going to have to go. I think the biggest problem is going to be finding that set of tuners for that last neck. Was that neck set up as a "bass" neck? I thought I read something on the forum about that.

Any other ideas about finding bridges? I tried e-mailing a couple of guys that are currently making 8 string steels to see if they had any resources.
