I am looking to edit some videos taken with a digital camera - Kodak. Can some recommend a program...preferably a free one?

Gary,
Editing video requires a lot of computing power, like fast dual processors, lots of ram and gigabytes of storage. This is especially true for PC's.

Your best bet is to use a Mac and Imovie.
There are places around me that rent time on their equipment so that may be an option if you don't want to buy.

Gary, what format is the video on the camera?
You may have to convert it to Quicktime to use it in the Avid free program.
Avid is a great program, I use Avid Media Composer, it about the best there is on Pc or Mac.
If you only need to cut and splice you could use the built in editor in XP..John

Gary..

If you have an XP computer, I highly recommend 'Adobe Premier Elements'. It costs about $100, and has many features and is pretty dang good...not too complicated once you figure it out.

You will want more hard drive space if you're doing lots of video..
