There is no one in Nashville qualified to audition steel players except other steel players! This ad is ridiculous.
Can't you just see a great steel player like Buddy E., Paul F. or Tommy W. auditioning for some 19 year old female singer, amature studio owner that doesn't even know what a steel is? Yep, this is quite a town, goes a little more backwards everyday it seems. See why I went into the "steel store biz?" This is it.

Bobbe, I didn't know studio gigs were 9-5 m-f If I'd have known that I would have practiced harder. Has this been a secret all theses years? Help us out B.S. |

Greg, you are correct! This has to be a real prank ad.
Like, auditioning for a US president, wait, this might not be a bad idea! |

Must be great to live in a town where you have so many non playing experts on steel guitar.
I love the place but I wouldn't liked to have competed in NV for a playing job when I was younger - I would have starved. I don't do amazing. |

My playing has been described as AMAZING but, not in the positive sense. I keep on keeping on though. I've only had sixty years of practice, just wait....
The last audition I has was with four capoed flat tops and a mandolin...thank goodness I flunked that one..Somehow I missed the beat...I don't think they did though.. |

Is this one of those audition deals where you get there and they tell you you can't carry your own stuff into the studio?
Ahh yes, those dreaded "cartage fees".
"Of course, if we hire you, we'll cover those fees." |

Yes, I went ahead and auditioned for the position. Turns out that it's an opening in the backup band for a Gentleman's Club (Topless/Bottomless). I declined the offer because I catch a cold easily and my chest is starting to sag at 60 years of age. |

Hey Ray, that's my old stand for the Session 500. Well, the cats out of the bag. I did get the gig and it pays almost nothing. Thank goodness we don't have to buy uniforms.. |
