Had a great time yesterday hanging out with Ronnie over lunch, and seeing the show last night. Ronnie did a great job, and gets a fantastic sound going direct through his Walker Stereo Steel pre-amp. He also does some great midi stuff using an IVL Steelrider. In addition to being a great musician Ronnie is a well-travelled and very interesting guy, and it was a pleasure getting to talk with him about a wide variety of stuff. Charlie's voice is in great shape, and he played a good long show to an enthralled audience. Ronnie arranged to have us pay our respects to Charlie in the green Room before the show, which was very special. I've passed on some pictures to Greg Simmons for posting (I haven't got the hang of it yet). |

And Ronnie's fantastic set at the Dallas Jamboree, which featured the Pridesmen with tight arrangements out the proverbial wazoo, was an eye-opening highlight of the convention. Like Mike said, a great player and person. _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? |
