Hey, I didn't even realize there was such a thing but............

There's a 1949-50 Rickenbacher 7-string Fry-Pan on eBay. Looks pristine! Not a blemish to be seen. It's gray in color with a Bakelite bottom, circular plate. Truly, a fine looking instrument. If'n I was ready to accept another divorce in my life, I'd run right down and buy it, no questions asked.

Speaking of Rickenbacher....
We've all seen many guitars over the years that have been picked clean of their innards...

WHAT would you imagine the following PICKUPS might be worth to the serious repair oriented player?
EMMONS?
Sho-Bud?
Rickenbacher?
Sierra?
MSA?

or, BIGSBY, right out of the box, purchased new and placed on a shelf for decades? I've heard of a stash of these.

I'm just curious........

I won an ebay auction for a rewound pickup for my Fingertip the same week as I received the guitar. The guitar had a George L on the E9th neck. I only paid $85 for the pickup. I was very surprised, and very pleased to have paid so little. I was prepared to pay MUCH more to have the correct part for my guitar!
Edited to add: I entered my high bid at $250. And I was praying that no one would bid higher! I mean, how often do you see really old Shobud pups on ebay?
And, to get it the same week I got the guitar? Fate, I tell ya! It was Fate!

The rewound original was "won" for $85, but my highest automatic bid would have been $250, had the bidding gone on.

How much risk does one run, that all the pole pieces or whatever will work on these parted out pickups?

Of course, we always have Rick Aiello to back us up in the event we meet with disappointment.

What do you think those BIGSBY steel guitar pickups might be worth in todays' market?
