I am putting the feelers out for a pedal steel in Canada, in the $1,800-$2,200 range. I would like to see both single and double necks. The reason I say Canada is that I'm trying to save on the taxes and brokerage that come with a heavier, more expensive instrument from the USA. I would like something to play mainly at home while I gig with my Blackjack. I am particularly interested in an older Sho~Bud, MCI or Mullen, but am open to other offers. I can look at USA D10's if they're lightweight, such as Carters or GFI's. These can be shipping through Canada Post, which only charges a nominal $5 brokerage fee. Canada Post won't look at an 80-pound Sho~Bud, so it would probably remain at the border somewhere.

| Hi I have this really super D10, ahve had it for 2 yrs. Bought it from the original owner who never gigged it or had it out of his bedroom and neither have I, I quite gigging about 10yrs. ago. The original owner play a Sierra 10 for gigging and couldn't get a handle on the C6. It is a 9 on the floor and 5 knees, one being the up lever. I have pic. if interested, respectfully, Dick, P.S. this unit is as new , not a scrach or dent on guitar or case. |

Hi Dick,
Nice to hear from you. I don't believe the Sierra D10's are lightweight like Carters or GFI's, which means I would have to use Fedex or UPS as opposed to USPS. Therefore, the fees would be just too much. But I do appreciate you getting in touch.

Thanks, Paddy....I keep an eye on Al's inventory online, and as far as I know it's pretty up to date. He doesn't have a whole lot available used right now. But a direct call to him would be a good idea.

Hi Jerry,
I was lucky enough to find a very clean Sho~Bud Professional. I wasn't originally sold on an older guitar, but this one has been recently set up, lubricated and adjusted. And the shipping is made that much cheaper and easier because it's domestic. The price is very fair as well. The pic shows the lacquer to be near-perfect, which is a real bonus on a early 70s 'Bud.

Yes, Don, they are rather heavy. I used to have a D10 Baldwin 'non-crossover' with the aluminum frame, so this one will be light in comparsion. 
I plan on setting it up in my music room and leaving it there. This won't see many gigs, unless of course I become addicted to the sound. If so, I'll get split cases.
