This B side is Jimmie Widener's "What A Line", featuring a blazing extended solo by Joaquin Murphy. For all you C6 players--this sounds like a project for the rest of the weekend.

Go to the music player and select Joaquin Murphy.

I've also added another Moonlighters tune to the player, if your interested. This one from a Clark Gable/Jean Harlow movie of the same name, "Hold Your Man".

The man just lights it up every time. Love those squeezed-out groaning chords toward the end!

If we must choose between Jimmie Widener's "What A Line", with Joaquin Murphy and the selections of Moonlighters with Mike Neer.

I'll take the Moonlighters with those two sweet sounding "dahlings."

Aloha,
Don

This is the first time I have ever heard Joaquin play the same ride on two songs. He did that same amazing single-string ride on "Oklahoma Stomp." I had the pleasure and honor of hanging out with him for 16 weeks in 1951 and attended all of the rehersal sessions at the Bostonia Ballroom in San Diego, where Smokey Rogers led the band. I listened in to over 50 rehearsals and never heard him duplicate a lick. I guess if he was going to re-use a chorus, that was certainly a good one to choose.

Kind of makes me want to set my guitars on fire and learn how to play the trumpet instead!

There's a great little MAC program called Wiretap that will let you record any audio playing on your computer with one click. There must be a windows program that does the same.
