Seems as if i didn't click send.Any hoo,yes i knew Shady Brown here in Ft.Worth.He played out on the Jacksboro highway and was a great steel player but didn't like pedals at the time.I was playing fiddle at the time on a local Sat night show and a Sat afternoon TV show that was recorded and shown later.Shady Played on the TV show also as i recall.I used to go out to where he played a sit down on the old Jacksboro highway.
Last time i remember seeing him was in some large club in Dallas.I was there one night playing with a western swing road band.

Thank you Tracy. I subbed for him several times in Ft.Worth and used his D-8 Sho-Bud when it was brand new. Loved his Sho-Bud, but most of all, I loved his Standel amp, Bob Meadows used it for a long time at Rose's Western Club on Belknap Blvd. in the late 50's. (another great player)
I do now have that Bob Meadows Bigsby and used in on my last Youtube clips. Sure do need a Standel amp to go with it!

Help! Anyone, I need a Tube Standel, from the late 50's.

Hey Bobbe, could it be that we're the only two forum guys who have both played through Shady Brown's Standel?? Cool Unless you used a late 50's one, I plugged into his 25L15, the two tone cream/green.

The guy in Colorado City, Tx is Shady (Doyle) Mitchell, another "good ole boy" steel player.

Jussi, yes, it was the 25 L 15 that I used of Mr. Browns. It was 1959 at that period of time.
