Has anyone out there ever tried the Eminance Commonwealth speaker for Steel? Looks pretty hefty and by the specs, should give great lows, mids & high's... _________________ aka:Bobby Rey-Derby SD-10, BSG SD-10,Fender 1965 Twin Reverb, NV 112(2),Hilton Low Profile,ProFex II |

Hey Robert,
Yes, it is a pretty good speaker. They are basically what's in the Steel Kings. It is just like Ford and Chevy, Coke and Pepsi, different strokes for different folks!
They are a well made speaker that will handle about any steel amp you can buy.
I will not try to describe the tone, as I believe that is subjective. |

Howdy, gives this mans website a whirl. His speakers are better and much lighter and less expensive as well. Just my humble opinions is all!!

I called Eminence and inquired about the Thiele-Small Parameters for the Steel King speaker and was told to use the parameters for the Commonwealth but that there were very slight differences. They are both 4-ohms and have the same frame/magnet assembly and are both rated at 225W. |
