Ozie Waters and the Plainsmen (Coast 226), featuring the beautiful steel guitar of Joaquin Murphy, exhibiting a "heartful" interpretation of the melody.
This will be up all weekend long here.

Mike, do you have The Plainsmen's version of 'Sweet Georgia Brown' and/or the original 45s flip side (?) to offer?
Would love to finally have that/those in my stash, as my long ago eBay purchased 45 tragically came in 2 seperate pieces, and I know SGB has a hot solo in it.
3 cheers for The Plainsmen, Murph, and Mike! |

Mike, you can keep doing this forever in my book. What a wonderful resource! I'm saving them as they come. Between John and Craig's Music/Tab and your sound files, We've got a learning resource that is priceless. Murph rules and so do you guys! |

David, under the title of the song on the MySpace page is the word "download". Hit that and you should get a message that says run, save, or cancel. Hit save and you'll get a box with a folder to save it in. You may want to change the folder. I go to the "MY Music" folder, if it's not the one that pops up, and save it in there. Good luck. |

Mike, really enjoyed your playing with the Moonlighters last night. The band was tight. My government computer won't down-load / "listen to" the Joaquin Murphey on your MySpace area. How would I get a hold of some of his stuff otherwise? [This message was edited by Peter Goeden on 10 September 2006 at 05:39 AM.] |

I thought he played a diminished triad but then I decided that the low note was played on the accordion, not the steel. So I changed that bar at the end. I should also have crossed out the D natural during the 2nd Bdim chord, because I think that note is the accordion too.
All this stuff is on the Joachin C6
G
E
C
A
G
E
C#
B (pitch between 3rd and 4th strings)
so I assume that is what he played. The only slant would be the Eb9 chord in the 7th bar, a simple slant at frets 12 and 13.
