I was in a local junk shop today looking at guitars. The owner told me he was possibly buying a "metal bodied" Slingerland guitar from 1938. Is this some resophonic I hadn't heard about? My search on the 'net didn't turn up anything.

Any info on what it might be and what it might be worth would be appreciated.

They did make some reso guitars. I have only seen wood body ones. They look very cool but that is all I know Smile

The ones I've seen look like resonators but actually have no cone, just a metal cover on what is essentially just a wooden acoustic guitar. Kind of a "fake" resonator.

Yeah I've seen those "faux-bro's" a couple of times. They actually don't sound terrible, but not a keeper unless you just want it for your collection.
