The band I play in is looking for a studio in the SF Bay Area (preferably south bay) that would be a good choice for recording alternative country and Americana type music (Gram Parsons, Flying Burrito Bros., etc.), preferably somebody who's seen a pedal steel before.

Do you have a Bay Area studio you can recommend?

Thanks in advance!

Give Soundtek Studios a call. It's run by Robert Berry and I've cut many steel tracks there. Ask about the studio run by Scotty Smith. I cut my pedal steel Cd at his previous studio and he played drums on it. Both Scotty and Robert are friends to the steel guitar. Make sure to tell them I sent you there.
For info, just google soundtek studios and you'll find it. Highly recommended!

there is a great place called Tiny Telephone run by John Vanderslice - lots of vintage stuff - EMI plate reverb - can't go wrong!
