Am in dire need for a microphone cable that has an ON-OFF switch built-in on the plug that goes to mike.

Source?

Thanx,
Jim

Ihave one that I bought over 20 years ago. It has a ring on the plug at the mic end of the cord that twists to turn on/off the mike. There is no brand name on the cable. Other than this cable, I have never seen another that has a switch (I have looked long and hard).

I never could understand why mic manufacturers don't put switches in their mic's. Can't cost that much extra.

Another idea would be an adapter with a switch that plugs into your mic and the cord plugs into the other end. Someone should jump on this.

Good luck in your search.

Yes, that is the type I have used at some clubs. The guitar player I played an Opry with last night thought he might have one at home that he is not using. That is what I need. A web search did not give any.

I play dobro and pedal steel on most gigs and ALWAYS use a mike for my dobro to give me the sound I want. However, my mike is a condenser mike that has an impossible to reach switch on it when you have picks on one hand and a guitar in the other.

I could rig up a stomp switch in series, but rather not do that much work.

Will keep looking.

Thanx,
Jim

With most of the Peavey Mics I have used - you can cords with or without switches - dealers usually keep them in stock

Web search with Google for "mic cable with switch" returned over 400,000 sites, mostly junk. However, it did turn up:

Horizon 25' Microphone Cable (with on and off Switch)

Female XLR Connector w/On-Off Switch

HTH.

Thanks guys for the info. I will check again at our area Guitar Center. I had asked there on Friday, and was told by the young man behind the counter - "Huh?" "I never heard of such." There is another peavey dealer I can check.

Thanx,
Jim
