Don’t miss this evening of modern and vintage music featuring non-pedal and lap steel guitars.
- Headlining will be Bobby Black who toured extensively with Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen. He also toured with Dolly Parton, Barbara Mandrell, New Riders of the Purple Sage, and Asleep at the Wheel. Bobby currently plays with Lost Weekend, Jim Campilongo, various Hawaiian groups.
- Patti Maxine, Santa Cruz steel guitar Queen. Her credits include Word of Mouth, Hawaiian Breeze, Saddle Up and Boogie.
- Mike Johnstone, Formed a band with Duane Allman in military/high school. Touring and recording with Charley Pride, Ferlin Huskey, and Tex Williams. He took care of steel virtuoso Joaquin Murphey in his later years and produced his last recording – a CD titled “Murph”.
- David Phillips, San Francisco ace steeler. Credits include San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, Tom Waits, Charlie Hunter, Peter Rowan, Big Lou’s Polka Casserole, and Bobby Black. (yes, polka)
- Bill Walker, Santa Cruz guitar wizard and steel guitar looping expert. Credits include; Tao Chemical, Tao Rhythmical, Santa Cruz Steel, Sol Caribe, World’s Collide, Dream beach, Dresden, and Babatunde Olatunji.
- House band backing up all this talent is the Larry Hosford Band. WOW!!!

Bobby Black is amazing on the Byrd diatonic tuning, and a heck of a nice guy too. I wish I could be there. |
