Can anyone please tell me where I can buy a 23 inch scale fretboard? I`m restoring a six string ( 4 pedal) multi-kord. When I removed the original fretboard it crumbled. Any imput would be appreciated. Thank you |

Paul Chandler makes both 6 and 8 string steels at 23" scale. I think it's http://www.chandlerguitars.com. If you don't like his, he may be able to put you on the right track. _________________ Amor vincit omnia |

If you can't find one, I made my own 23" for the lapsteel that I built. I copied it from the one on one of my Multi-Kords.
YOu can see it on the HSGA Hawaiian steel guitar Association Forum. It takes some hunting but it is there.
Heres how I did it. I got a ball point pen type of paint marker that you can get at a hobby store. (Black )
I took plain art cardboard and painted it then laid a cut out of the fretboard next to the one on my Multi-kord and using a square duplicated the frets. Then I drew the markings/designs between the frets.
I then bought a peice of 1/8 inch plexiglass and cut out a peice the size of the original fretboard. I laid it over the cardboard fretboard and fastened it down just like the original. It looks proffessionally done or at least close to it. ![Wink](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) |

The plexiglass over a paper fretboard is how some old Marlen guitars are done. It actually looks nice. |
