O on the web site.
Planning by potential patrons would be possible/a bit easier if there could be some basic info available at this point. |

Have you tried posting this question on the HSGA Discussion Forum? Are you sure there's a convention held by the Hawaiian Steel Guitar Association? I see no mention of it anywhere on their site. _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel

The HSGA convention in Hawaii meets every other year. This is the off year. The next convention will be in 2009 scheduled for April. Sorry Ron. |

I was told the people there were looking into a session at the library and maybe more (sorry, don't remember the details) I think they are waiting to see how many people show up on this off-year get-together.
I think they also have discounts at the Queen Kapiolani for this off year, but not positive about that. |

I musta misread everything I heard recently, but maybe there will be other stuff planned, and I do know that next month's Steel Guitar Sunday at The Shorebird will feature all HSGA members as guest artist.
Paul Kim was last Sunday's headliner. He was backed by 2 legends, Kuki Among/vocals/guitar and Harold Hakuo'le/vocals/bass (some cool 60's Japanese ginzu ...thing).
Besides these 3 great singers, Hawaii Falsetto Contest winner, the man behind www.50thstateradio.com , and one cool steeler, Jersey's Bill Wynne hopped on stage for 2 numbers and immediately blew everybody away with his vocal expertise.
Next month should be another winner. |
