ONE OF MY SESSION 400 AMPS WENT DOWN ON ME THE OTHER NITE. WHEN I TURNED IT ON THE SPEAKER PUSHED ALL THE WAY OUT AND I COULD SMELL BURNING. I NEVER HAD ANY TROUBLE BEFORE. I TRIED IT A COUPLE TIMES BUT NO GOOD. HAS ANYONE HAD THIS HAPPEN TO THEM? ANY IDEAS?I'M GETTING READY TO TEAR INTO IT. I'M NO ELECTRONICS WIZ BUT SOMETIMES IT'S SOMETHING SIMPLE.

Sounds like AC might have got to the speaker. Possibly a power supply or rectifier problem?
I wouldn't turn it on anymore without a good tech looking at it. The voice coil in the speaker might already be toast Whoa! .

That would be "DC", direct current. That's what it sounds like. May I recommend the Peavey Black Widow 1501-4 complete speaker?

I would check the output transistors, if they have gone to rail and are putting out DC to the speaker you will burn up a new speaker in less than about 1 second!!
