ONE OF MY SESSION 400 AMPS WENT DOWN ON ME THE OTHER NITE. WHEN I TURNED IT ON THE SPEAKER PUSHED ALL THE WAY OUT AND I COULD SMELL BURNING. I NEVER HAD ANY TROUBLE BEFORE. I TRIED IT A COUPLE TIMES BUT NO GOOD. HAS ANYONE HAD THIS HAPPEN TO THEM? ANY IDEAS?I'M GETTING READY TO TEAR INTO IT. I'M NO ELECTRONICS WIZ BUT SOMETIMES IT'S SOMETHING SIMPLE. |

Sounds like AC might have got to the speaker. Possibly a power supply or rectifier problem?
I wouldn't turn it on anymore without a good tech looking at it. The voice coil in the speaker might already be toast . _________________ Always remember you're unique..... Just like everyone else |

That would be "DC", direct current. That's what it sounds like. May I recommend the Peavey Black Widow 1501-4 complete speaker? |

I would check the output transistors, if they have gone to rail and are putting out DC to the speaker you will burn up a new speaker in less than about 1 second!! |
