Yesterday afteroon I played a gig at a club with
a "monster" house PA system. I decided to run direct
from the PODXT to the board utilizing the PODs' (cab/air) feature.
I ran into a problem sending a strong enough output
signal to the board. I had my ouput and channel
volumes set to maximimun and the signal was barely
strong enough. I tried switching to one of the factory presets that came with the pod and the volume nearly tore the roof off the place.. so I know it' not the POD.
My question is : Is there another place in the POD to adjust your preset volume other that the ouput and channel knobs on the fronf of the POD XT ?
Thanks in advance,

You can get major boost of level in the compressor---the soft key, top left, not the stomp box compressors. You don't have to compress---you can just boost gain without any compression. My guess is that right there's the difference between your settings and the loud presets you jumped to. |

I've used mine direct, once, and didn't have any problems with my simple preamp/speaker emulation and reverb and delay effects, no compressor.
What program or type of program did you attempt to use? |

Hi Bob,
the XT´s manual states that the output level is either +4 dB balanced (tip/ring/sleeve) or -10 dB unbalanced (normal guitar cable tip/sleeve).
This is normal pro audio level and matches any PA-input. (edit:) as you have noticed.
Maybe you should start with a factory preset again and adjust it to your taste. then, while tweaking, you come to the point where the level went down, you´ve got it....

I sometimes use the POD's "stompbox" set to a Tubescreamer, and there is a volume setting that you can set on that screen.
Maybe you have an effect turned on -- and the volume for that effect is set very low? Just a thought. |

Hi Bob
I had a similar problem using clean patches with low drive settings.I had one channel to the board and the other to my amp.output all the way up -channel volume as loud as my amp (or I) could take.PA channel was cranked and was not getting enough signal. The next week I brought a short cable with a 1/4 male and female XLR and used that with a mike cable to the PA.Way more output ro the PA -worked great. |

Thanks for the replies everyone. I haven't had the chance to try some of the suggestions offered here but I look forward to doing so this weekend when I get another chance to hoop up to a PA.
All the patches I'm having problems with are the clean ones so I'm hoping my problem is the same one Rich experienced. I use the Line 6 and Jazz Clean amps with the 1x15 cab.
Again, I really apprciate the feedback.
