Smile hello steel guitar world, I'm a long time viewer and only been trying to play a little over a year,
actually I tried a little over 20 years ago and for unforseen circumstances I got out and allways regretted it but I'm back in hook line and sinker.
I have learn more this go around than I did way back when and enjoying every min of it, thanks, mike

Welcome Michael,
The Forum is a great place to help you learn. There is SO much information available here. Wish I had been able to read the Forum in 1973 when I started playing... Read the Posts, and ask questions. Forum members are always ready to help. Have fun!

Have your heard of SGT. Ted Matthews? he served with me in WWII and we we hitchhiked all the way across the country from San Francisco and Stopped over at his Mother's house in Alabama for one night....al.SmileSmile

thank you for the warm welcome and yes I'll have a lot of questions but most of the time while looking over the forum you guys already answer them.
hello mr Al Marcus , no, I do not know the gentleman in question, Ted Matthews, possible some distant relitive, my dads name was Leonard, he and my uncle, Charly sang as a duet for many years in surrounding areas like winchester tenn. and huntsville al. and also in the north{both have long passed now}anyway , I'm just glad to be here and I love the steel guitar

Michael- Just a long shot. It was in Montgomery,al. We had just got dishcharged in San Francisco in Nov.1945. He was going to Chicago and I was going to Cleveland, so we just stopped in his folks home in Alabama, he would be about 85 now...al.Smile
