I was on Broadway last night and there was a fellow playing a S10 pushpull thru an 1801-4. It sounded huge! Now I'm gonna give the PP credit for some of that, but I've owned several and I don't recall getting that big of a sound out of it. Is this a recommended speaker for this application? Are there different basket deapths? If so, which basket, etc. is preffered?

Thanks,
Pat

Also, his amp looked like a home made 1000 with a larger cab to take the bigger speaker.

I used to run a fender silverfaced twin through a carvin 18 speaker cab. It would punch you in the face,,at smaller gigs I actually just aimed it at the wall behind me and let the reflected noise fill the room. It sounded like you where surrounded by speakers that way.

I found I had a hard time hearing the clarity of it if I was to close. The node is farther away I guess. But it sounded really clear and like you said, BIG. That was for 6 string.
