I'm playing a Zum SD-10 at this time and I have 4 levers on the left knee and 2 on the right knee, when I ordered my new steel that is what I ordered plus the PF pedal in the "0" spot, I have been doing some reading and I got Paul's CD on this pedal and I have found out you need to be able to lower your E's with this pedal and I lower mine on my LKR, soo I have been thinking about adding another lever to lower my E's on the right side or a Vert. knee. What's your take on this ? Any suggestions ? I still have time to add to the order.
I don't want to move my regular E to Eb lever & I want the PF pedal #1 position.
My Copedent now ( I think I got it all right).
Pedals > (Emmons) ABC
LKL1 > E's to F
LKL2 > (2)D# > C# & (6)G# > G + a split w/B pedal
LKV > B's > Bb + a split w/A pedal
LKR > E's > Eb
RKL > (1)F# > G/G#,(2)D# > E & (6)G# > F# + a split w/B pedal
RKR > (2)D# > D,(9)D > C# & (7)F# > G#

Gary,
I don't have that many knees on E9, but I do have to make a similar move with my setup. I have your RKL on my LKR (raising 1&2), and I use it with my first pedal all the time. This would be the same stretch you'd have to do to get the PF pedal with your E lowers. I have it on a Sho~Bud, and it's just something to get used to; much easier on a modern guitar with shorter knee throw. You just have to hit the first pedal straight on, not the same angle you use when hitting the F lever.
Side note: Have you thought about changing your 6th lower with RKL to a 7th whole raise? It's a really fun change, and it works well with your PF pedal. Plus, with your copedent, you wouldn't lose anything. Just a thought. Have fun. |

Gary, Have you thought of just swapping places with your LKR & RKL? Works for me.
