I just ordered a MIDI keyboard controller and just noticed by looking at the manual online, that it doesn't come with a power supply. They state that you have to buy a seperate power supply if you want to use it as a live controller as opposed to using it with your computer using USB to power it.
The specs they give are 12vdc, 250-300ma.
My question is, will a power supply that is rated at 12vdc, 1700ma work. The manufacturer actually sells one for the keyboard rated at 1000ma in their online store. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . If your supply is "regulated", then you're probably just fine with that one.

250-300ma is the minimum requirement. Higher specs on a power supply assure that you meet these requirements (they denote the amount of power available to draw on----not 'over' power). Be sure, though, that you have the proper polarity (tip positive or tip negative) as specified by the keyboard. |

Thanks guys. That's what I thought.
Hard to believe they sell the keyboards without the power supply. But the 2 different brands I was considering both came without power supplies. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) .
