I've come to terms with the fact that I will not make good use of the C6th neck and have decided to sell my 1968 ZB Custom serial #1132 It has several bar dings (mostly between the necks)but the beautiful inlay on the front more than makes up! 10 pedals 5 knee levers Tone is GREAT and overall condition is VERY good! Beautiful guitar. I dont even play pedal steel yet and I got the worst GAS for these beauties. You think this thing would be a good steel to learn on? I'm looking for my first steel and I want something solid with room to grow on (i.e. at least a step-up from the Carter Starter).
Also, am I missing something here or are there only 8 pedals in the pictures? Is it hard to change it to the most standard setup of pedals/knee-levers? |

Hello Dana. What a beauty and priced so, so right. It's been a while since a pedal steel got my heart a going pitty-pat like yours ZB does. If I might be so bold as to ask, what is the serial number? You know, keeping it and learning the C6 neck may save you a lot of seller's regret in the future. I'm not sure that you are going to find another one that is going to sound as good.

Oh Darn!!! Yet another beautiful, fantastic ZB appears to have come so close, yet slipped out of my grasp. To whoever managed to score this ridiculously underpriced piece of fine wood, incomprehensible mechanics and beautiful tone...I tip my hat.
To Jim W., I'm sorry that you are so old, and even more sorry about the recent incident. I hope that your dad (and you) are doing much better.

It appears this steel is bound for the "windy city" pending the cash across the barrel. Thanks to those who expressed an interest, and yes it is 8 pedals/5 knee levers...not 10 pedals as I posted....It was late..how many fingers am I holding up?!?

Just a quick reply to Kyle's question. The ZB is not really a good guitar for a beginner unless it is set up the way you want it (and keep it that way for a long time). They are hard to work on and usually require sending it out to someone experienced in working on them.
They are one of the most beautiful and one of the best sounding guitars ever made. Wish I still had the 2 I owned.

Whoever bought this guitar should just send it to Greg Jones for a once-over. Greg will make it perfect and this is worth all the candy. Look at those pickups! Those are Zane's. I hope the buyer knows what he is getting.

What really ticks me off is, I just came into a little money and could have been in the running for this guitar. A day late and a dollar short, as they say.
I love that inlay on the front.
Somebody got a jewel of a guitar.

With regards to this fine guitar, the chances of
one like that, or, thinking on it,any pedal steel
coming up for sale here,I stand more chance of
piloting the first ship to Mars than finding one !
Still a good bump for a fine looking guitar.
