Spotted this on a blog, never saw this photo before, looks like E is playing pedals back in the day @ The Opry and everyone including Earl Scruggs is checking him out.

Who set that FRICKIN' Fender T-6 in the way????? Smile

Can't tell which PSG Buddy is playing, but it might be a BIGSBY.?? Spider Wilson is playing guitar at the left side of the pic. They were both playing for
"TATER" in the mid to late 1950s.

If you watch the televised Opry on GAC, you will notice that photo hanging on the dressing room wall behind the interviewee (Is that a word? Laughing ) and the female interviewer whose name escapes me.

I get out a kick out of how gingerly we treat our guitars to protect the finish.

Then there's the Fender steel in this pic with the volume pedal just thrown haphazardly on top of the guitar for sheer convenience of carrying it all at one time on and off of stage. Not to mention someone's elbow mashing down on the pickup.

Those of us that have played package shows and jamborees can appreciate how everything has to come on and off stage in a hurry in one bundle!

That is Les Paul immediately in front of Buddy. Hank Garland in the white cowboy hat looking over Buddy's shoulder.

Here is a copy with less cropping. Buddy has identified several other people in the pic, but I can't recall all the names.

Looks like he's showing off the Bigsby to the guys.
Really cool photo. I am sure Earl really liked it, not sure what year he had his Scruggs tuners made but this could have inspired it.

So apparently that's not Hank Garland, as stated above?

Lotta plaid in that picture.

I'm with Mitch. I think he's Hank Garland. I can see how there's a resemblance to Earl, though.

Well, no problem in admitting my initial instinct was WRONG..

Appearantly according to my friend who worked with HG, it IS him.
