Ever wondered what JERRY BYRD sounded like as a young, beginner, steel player?
When he was appearing on the Renfro Valley Barn Dance, he was just a young boy.
The JERRY BYRD - FAN CLUB.com
is now featuring JERRY BYRD both as the professional he grew up to be and, as a young beginner.
Why not give him a listen? I'd be interested in your comments. |

I went to the site and listened to a few cuts. Which songs were done when he was a boy? Is "Little Brown Shoes" one of them? It was the only one I noticed that seemed to be a little less "involved." |

Ray, I just visited the site and listened to all the posted tunes and it's always so cool to hear one that's new to me. The tone on some of his early recordings is just so awesome and I can't get enough of it. Thanks for doin such a great job with the "Jerry Byrd Fan Club" site. keep up the excellent work boy. |

I'll tell you what, Ray.. You touched a nerve..
My Dad was in the Marine Corps in Korea. He always thought that Jerry Byrd was a steel guitar god. After he finished his tour of duty, he landed back in the Hawiian islands for a short spell before he landed state side. While in the islands he found himself his steel.. Dad learned the Hawiian Thechnique to a nat's *&%%$, if you know what I mean.. It brings tear to my eyes.. Nuff said.. _________________ MSA D12 Vintage XL 8+5
