Is that a Canopus Jeff's playing?

Yes, it actually looks like Alan Akaka's guitar. (Or used to be?)

I'm not too impressed with the singer. Jeff must be playing Alan's Canopus. I hadn't heard he has one himself.

Alan Akaka normally plays on Thursday at the Marriott. No doubt in my mine that this is Alan's Canopus with Jeff probably playing a set at the request of Alan. Alan is sitting in the audience giving his thumbs up.

The more I hear those Canopus guitars the more impressed I am with their tone.

Gee, I thot the Canopus tone was the least pleasing thing on the video. All too typical of these guitars, a mosquito like overtone permeates the sound that I find annoying.
A friend took his Canopus and put the PU nearer the bridge and it improved the tone considerably.
Harold Haku'ole has a solid body dbl. 8 that he makes sound quite good, and Keoki Lake likes his a lot.
The differring models seem to be dramatically different in sound.

Jeff sounds best on the long scale fry-pan.
How's #1, dude?

I agree that Jeff is superb on a long-scale frypan, and he gets that old style tone from it. Smile
