Dear all,

I've gotten so into acoustic lap slide that I rarely play my National New Yorker, which is tuned in C6. As I'm very much enjoying exploring variations of the open D shape on acoustic lap slide (and a bit of "dobro" tuning), I would like to try this out in my electric as well.

Could anyone please recommend strings (brand and gauges) that would suit a New Yorker in open D (DADF#AD, lo to hi) or even open C (CGCEGC)? And the same for "dobro" tuning (GBDGBD).

Many thanks!

Fred

The John Pearse nickel wound resophonic sets will do you for D and G tunings.
