Topic: Any PC program available to help Tab out steel? |

| I keep getting asked for tabs for some of my youtube postings. I was wondering if there's an easy way to input it onto a PC and print it out neatly if I decide to print off a few? David Hartley |

David , there is a program called Tab Edit, I know nothing about it but some of guys here will help

You may want to take a look at this too. Both are good for tabbing out songs.

| Just had a quick look at both. ClickTab looks like its a dediacted PSG software.. I will hang on for other replies to this posting to see what others say about their user frienliness and features... Anyway, where have you been lately John R? David I'm alway here, I need to get help. Anyway I'm coming back to the UK for a while, so with a bit of luck I may see you at John Davis bash next month , I may even bring my Sierra Uni 12 and show you how not to play, Your recordings are sounding much to good. maybe you can give me some tips on the right hand technique.
The new guitar sounds great , love the PF pedal.
I'm thinking of having the G# to E on my steel, Ray Kedge pointed it out to me on another post. are you going to bring Flash with you to the JD do?, maybe I can get some tips from him if I bring him a big juicy bone..take care JR |

| By the way David, I am interested in your copedent. I have a S-10 that I would like to make sure mirrors yours; especially if you follow through with the tab. I would also like to thank you for all your work and making a bunch of us real happy. |

The maker of Tabledit asked for our input many years ago. You can find those posts by searching the Old Forum for "Tabledit".

It has a bit of a learning curve, but is worth it.
I like that it plays the music back. It doesn't sound
great, but is very helpful for locating typos and other errors.
There's a free demo version, so you can try before buying. |

I can't say enough about TablEdit.

Like Joey says, there is a learning curve, but there's great help files.
You compose in the tab staff, making sure that the spacing coincides with the desired timing.
Then the music staff pretty much writes itself.
I've been using it for the Buck Reid transcriptions, and the tabs I did of three Jimmie Crawford tunes.
So you can see what the end product looks like, this is a Jimmie sample:
