Hi folks,

Has anyone played the Wechter Scheerhorn Rob Ickes signature squareneck reso?

Here it is: Wechter Scheerhorn Rob Ickes model

It sure looks good! Now, how about playability and sound?

Cheers,

Fred

In that video clip he's playing his custom made Scheerhorn, not a an Ickes Wechter/Sheerhorn. It looks very similiar because the Wechter/Sheerhorn is modeled after his Scheerhorn. If you look closely at the end of the fretboard in the video you'll see it has a distinctive curve. The Wechter/Scheerhorn fretboard is straight at the end.

I haven't played or heard the Ickes model Wechter/Scheerhorn, but I've been very impressed with the sound and playability of the other Wechter/Scheerhorns I've played - very balanced sound, clear bass, good volume.

There has been plenty written about the W/S Ickes model on both Reso Nation and on the Jerry Douglas Bulletin Board (Neighborhood Forum).

I haven't played one myself, but the reports are coming in that it is an outstanding reso for the money.
