Maybe someone out there can help with this question.

I have a six string National Clipper lap steel.I'm thinking about selling it, but I do not have any idea what it is worth. It is used and has a few nick, but I am no longer playing 6s. I did a web search and couldn't find one for sale. The local big box guitar shop offered me $500 trade in value, but would give me a "BUY" price.
Help!!

Thanks

George

George, here's the only image I could find. This one is for sale, but no price given. Contact http://www.blueguitarmusic.com/inventory.htm to see what they're asking.

1953 National Clipper: 100%, Six string, 3-tone sunburst guitar shaped body with white binding, cream plastic pickup & control cover, classic stair-step fretboard markers.

GC had one at their Hollywood store for $950 with no case. I know that's too darn high!
My case is a wreck.

Thanks for you input.

Just outa curi-gossipy, does the pickup in a Clipper belong to the same family as the ones in the Dynamic? They look very similar to me--chromed metal cover with slot-head screws atop--I tried the Brad's page but National 'Clipper' has no examples...far as I know.
Oh, and the 3-octave fretboards are almost the same style in each. HMMM
