Yes, he's one of the best of the early lap steel blues players. Although he uses a medicine bottle slide here (and not even a round one), there's an earlier photo of him on the cover of an Arhoolie album using the old style round brass bar with a flat end. He once had his own radio program in East Texas.

That's good stuff!

I've had the I'm the Boss Card in Your Hand CD for a while, but have never seen footage of him. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

I love the liner notes on that CD with him explaining: "My real name is Babe Karo Lemon Turner. I don't know why they named me like that. I throwed the "lemon" away and just used the initials of Babe Karo - B.K. Turner. Fact is my wife never knew what my full name was until just now."

That was a really nice piece to see. Seems to be a bonus, too. There's a great cut by Bukka White (Listed as Booker White) playing slide guitar in the column to the right of the clip. If you listen to that song (which is amazing) a cut of Mr. White playing "Poor Boy" lap-style with a kitchen knife is in the column to the right. Wish I knew how to just copy in the link. It's a problem with being raised up with a typewriter instead of a computer.
