Born: March 9, 1920

I wish he were still with us to celebrate. But I bet there is a heck of a steel guitar jam in heaven today.

I'm spending my day spinning classic Byrd LPs.

Thanx, Bill.

They're having a better jam up there than we are down here now, and I damn well better (at least) be in that audience, eventually.

Jerry was a dear friend. We all know what fantastic player he was. I just wish everyone could have known Jerry Byrd the man as I did. He was a deep thinker and very funny. And oh the stories he could tell. I loved him alot. I miss him and think of him often. Think I'll put a CD of his on and once again listen to the "Master". My best to all, Bobby

I didn't know him well, but he had a dry sense of humor. I remember his comments about air-conditioning, "either it's too dam cold, or it don't work" Very Happy

That's a great video, Rick. Thanks for sharing. I can see how a reversed volume pedal would work well for standing and playing.

All who care should visit the Jerry Byrd Fan Club that Ray Montee so lovingly maintains, to hear more examples of Jerry Byrd's steel guitar artistry.

THANKS once again for sharing with all of your friends. No one likes to get shut down when they're doing something worthwhile and appreciated.
Since his foot pedal work is purely educational, I'm sure most will find it enlightening and purely educational with little personal satisfaction in the clip, there fore no one should complain about it.

THANKS too, to Brad for the JBFC referral. We have a page there that has about a dozen songs on it that most folks have never heard before. Hope you newbies will enjoy it.

Happy Birthday......Jerry Byrd!
