I'm curious what advantages this has over a standard george L E-66? The George L site says it comes with a 5 position switch. What exactly does that switch do?
I'm assuming the extra wires allow for coil tapping and possibly a series/parallel function or maybe a phase flip?
Thanks |

Greg, the five position switch is as you thought, a multi coil splitter. Each setting gives you different strengths of the coil. (DC Resistance) I tried one and only found one setting that sounded decent to me. I believe Buddy Emmons said something to the same effect years ago. I have known a few people that like them, but they are in the minority. YMMV
Hope this helps. |

Thanks for the info, I was hoping it would do more than that. Perhaps I'll stick with the E66 on my new guitar. I like their tone and they can be split to single coil if desired. |
