I came across some photos from the Irish Steel Convention and there was Russ Hicks playing a blue single neck Williams.
Just wondering if it was a loaner for the gig or does Russ own it....

I was in Ireland for the show and Russ told me that he took the guitar to Ireland for a friend to sell. The guitar was new but his friend didn't like the short width of the body. Russ did sell the guitar in Ireland but I don't know who made the purchase.

When Russ comes to our show next weekend, he will be borrowing an SD-10 Williams from Bill Rudolph. Russ is flying in and didn't want to buy an extra seat. If it the one I think it is, the guitar is a dandy.

Say what??? Let me see if I got this right here. This guy is flying in via a private Lear Jet, then is being picked up at the airport via a stretch limo with two body guards to carry his luggage, (a belt pack with a set of picks and steel bar) and he wants to "borrow a steel guitar too"! geeeze! Okay then, but who is he going to have playing it for him? Laughing

Craig, Please let us know what Russ thinks about the Williams 600 SD-10. I have the Williams Series 600 S10WB and like it very much because it has the same leg stance as the D-10 and is only 2 and 3/16 inches narrower.

Let me put this to rest. The Willy belong to a friend of mine and he is also a friend of Russ.
He wanted to sell the willy so I set it up with Russ's
tuning and Russ played it and then it was sold.
End of story.

Russ didn't really say anything to me. I am sure he spoke to Bill Rudolph about it. He sounded really good on Sunday. But then he was running through my Evans. Trouble is, he didn't leave any licks in it.
