I like the SP steel; it is the right size and weight and shape for me, but the plating wears off pretty quickly. Does Shubb make a steel that is cobalt plated like the Stevens, or do they make an unplated stainless steel one, or something ? Any other suggestions ?

Check with Elderly Instruments if they have this or can have it done. I think (correct me if I'm wrong) that the cobalt plated products they offer (fingerpicks, for instance) are plated by a third party, not by the manufacturer. If they can offer Propik and Showcase 1941 products cobalt plated, they may be able to do the same with the popular SP bars. Just a thought.
