Anyone got or tried the road-o-phonic? I have a D model dobro with a non active fishman pickup that sounds great miked up but I have just started working with a full band and i am getting the usual feedback issues. Does the road-o-phonic sound authentic at volume? Any other suggestions welcome but I have read most of the old threads. I believe its the internal baffle that makes the difference.

alan-
i've only noodled around with one in the store, but i liked it. it seems like you could split the signal and run the magnetic pickup thru some pedal that would give it a little bite, and sound more lap steel like. i think that greg boyd ( www.gregboyd.com ) has a used one for sale.

Alan,
I have a Road-O-Phonic in my collection and it is a great guitar. It has the two pickups, a piazo for the dobro sound and a magnetic for the lap steel sound. I have a Marshall acoustic amp that can split the two signals coming from the guitar via a stereo cord. You can dial in just about any sound you are looking for. A neat instrument!

Thanks everyone I have ordered a RG-03 Schatten Resonator Guitar Pickup (passive) and a
Schatten Preamp/ DI for my dobro to see if I can get that sounding right first. Also checking out a R-O-D with a dealer in London.
