Inspired by a topic on the forum in the "steelplayers" section we decided to change the format in "The Original Steel Guitar Room".
During certain times there will be Original Country music playing.Due to the fact that we have a "Bulletin Board" in this room people can post their comments and reply's to all this.
We also want to change the name of this room.Because of the fact that we will be playing Instrumentals as well as regular music we thought that it would be wise to have you people chime in to come up with a good name.
Steel Guitar Room

O.k we have seen 123people viewing this post and nobody answers. It seems that we are promoting steel guitar artists...yet no one seems to care.
The "Original Steel Guitar Room" has been set-up to help beginners,Pro's and steel music lovers.
Not only do we have a steel guitar chat room but we also have discussion opportunity's.This steel guitar chat/discussion/learning room is not funded by anyone besides us.We put 24/7 effort in this because we believe in you...the steel guitar players.
We have people coming in that are the best of the best finger pickers and yet...steel players(for whom we set up this room) are no where to be found. We are buying C.D's from players and promote them.We have a music library that contains over 12.000 songs that we bought. How ever even the steel players(from whom we bought these C.D's)are not showing up.
In other topics people complain about Country and Western music going down the drain and that there are only a hand full of steel players that actually try to do something about this.
http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=129649
Weird that when someone has the opportunity to do something about this they throw this opportunity in the trashcan.
I am not saying that we can make a whole lot of difference but at least we are trying.
You will not hear us complaining but we come to the point where we are asking our selfs.......is it worth it?We are all talking about being one big happy family.....but are we?
Besides finger pickers do we have music publishers come in from time to time. Some of you know that and some of you don't.Now here is the opportunity to actually make a difference in Country and Western music. These publishers are always scouting.
Grab that chance. _________________ Karen Kaylee <-- click

Karen,
You & Ron really should wake up and smell the coffee! At the time that happened, you needed participants so I was trying to help you get them. It's like advertising. . . . LURE THE NEW CUSTOMER OVER!
I could have probably got over 20 to 30 Emmons owner-friends of mine to check out the site , find their way in and start talking about their Emmons guitars 1 night a week. Then the word of mouth would have made it grow & multiply. But NO, you had to go blow my cover and screw it up. Maybe a little misleading but it would have worked then you wouldn't now be begging steel players to log-on. GheeeWhizzzz, it's no wonder you two can't get anyone to participate in your chat room. I know I'm not very popular with you and Ron and I don't really give a YANKEE crap. I understand now why others in the steel community have told me, you two are very strange people.

Hey Nick, We never had any problem over there we just did not feel that using the name "Nick Reeds Steel Guitar Room " fit. We feel that you are always welcome as everyone is.It is a room for all steelers, and we are looking for a good name that everyone can enjoy and call it their own. Thanks for the reply Nick.

Nick.....buddy,pal,cumba.
Let me start with this.

RON & KAREN ARE THE WRONG PEOPLE TO MODERATE ! |
Where do you get the nerve to judge us?Did we ever post on the forum something bad about you or Linda?....we don't think so.It seems that you forgot the time that you went through your divorce and we tried everything to help you by calling you and be understanding and supportive. And now you have the guts to call us "strange"?
Man you've got "Cojones" the size of Church Bells.
Did we really blow your cover? What cover was that Nick?
Do you call...Changing the name from "The Original Steel Guitar room" to "Nick Reed's New Emmons P/P Chat Room. . . . .It's FREE!" a cover?
http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=108643&highlight=
Did you know that we lost 2 moderators over your stunt?
What you are doing right now is throwing with dirt.We are not stooping down to your level. You're simply not worth it.
Second...we never begged or try to "Lure" people to come in.We are trying to promote the "Pedal Steel Guitar".Apparently you don't care about that or you would not post something like this.Editing a reply after it's been posted shows me what kind of man you are...or should we say "boy".

I know I'm not very popular with you and Ron |
No not anymore after the stunt you pulled. That you don't give a "YANKEE" crap is your way of thinking alright.Instead of promoting the "Pedal Steel Guitar" you'd rather throw dirt about something that was inevitable and called for by nobody else but yourself. You stabbed us in the back.
Maybe you've heard about this saying?

You "were" a moderator...but you only came in the Chat Room when you felt like it.That....Nick is not called a moderator.Coming in as a big shot and plugging your band for 2 minutes and then leaving is not called moderating a Chat Room.
Quote: |
Wanta talk about these great old guitars from the past with people like myself and others. Then come join us on my new steel guitar Chat-room |
And here you call it "Your" new steel guitar chat-room.
Yeah you were a moderator alright. The only thing you had to do is step in a freshly made bed and try to take over. But unfortunately for you did we see right through you....didn't we?
Were you ever there when we had a crowded room? You were never available when we needed you in there. Our rendition of being a moderator is being there for people to,
Setting their mic's up.
Talk to them Live.
Play the songs they would like to hear.
Being there for fellowship and friendship and promoting their music.
And most of all discussing all steel guitar topics.
You never did any of this.....so we came to the conclusion that you were(simply put) NOT moderator material.
You say that we should not be moderating this room.....A lot of people think otherwise. That Sir....leaves you on a lonely and deserted field.
I have more Steel Guitar knowledge in my little "pinky" then you have in your entire being.Karen and I have done more in music then you will ever accomplish.5000 self(written)songs and own all the rights to them are the result of all that.Karen was Pennsylvania's Director of Country Music for many many years. She had Owen Bradley as producer. And you call us "Strange"?People that are invited by B.M.I to become one of "their" publishers are called "strange"?People that have 5 recording labels and their own publishing company are called "Strange"?Having Lloyd Green,Hargus "PIG" Robbins,Buddy Harmon,Buddy Spicher,Pete Wade as friends is called "Strange"?
A woman that has C.O.P.D and asthma standing in 100-degree weather and performing to raise money for children with Down-Syndrome is called "Strange"?I call that a woman with a heart who cares more about other people then herself. And that is what she has tried to do from day 1.....help other people and entertain them. And that is what we both do in "The Steel Guitar Chat Room"
And if it means that we have to advertise more....then we'll do so.We will do what ever it takes.
It's not up to you anymore Nick. You had your chance and decided to make it your own.
Sorry.....but your way is not the right way to run things.
Having over a 1000-members does not show bad management, does it?
We started the "Original Steel Guitar Chat Room" to be supportive, understanding, helpful and above all a gateway for people to meet people and friends that want to share their interests and love for The Steel Guitar. We are there for people that either like to sit, listen, talk or be of valuable help to others.
So......if you want to start a personal vendetta then I suggest you do it with someone you know.
Nuff Said. |

Al "Boo" Miller,
your response has nothing to do with the subject of this thread.Second of all...what you are doing right now is trolling our post. That is very rude and uncalled for.
Maybe you did not see the "Threads" name?It says...New name for "The Original Steel Guitar Room".
That means that we do "Not" want to be associated with the past no more.
Your vendetta(and yours alone)that you carry has nothing to do with what we are doing on that web-site and that is promoting The Pedal Steel Guitar.
We received numerous e-mails that asked us not to rehash this vendetta and let it rest.We buried the hatchet because we respect these people and their wishes.
We have no hard feelings towards anyone...not even towards you.
I respect b0b for giving us the space to do what we try to do and that is promoting the instrument we all love with all our heart and soul. And I want to thank all the people here on the forum for taking time out of their day to read our posts. If we can make people happy and be of any help with what we do then our mission is a success.
Many thanks to all the people that support us.

I think its a shame that we as professional people keep doing this. What is the sense in it?We are grown adults!
It seems that every time we turn around someone is slandering someone else..for what reason?Did anyone accomplish anything? No! Yet it keeps going on..Only if you let it.Myself? Its been over since I left the other site.I have had folks come into the Chat Room asking questions. One question for example;where can I get a steel seat? I send them to Walker seats Why?....Because thats the kind of person I am.
If someone comes in the room asking if I know of someone that works on steels, I send him/her to Bobby Bowman Why?.....because they are part of what makes a "Steel Guitar Community" They are good at their craft, just like the many others that do what they do.
This shows "professionalism" In life we will find that we have people that like you, and people that don't.Thats just part of life. I myself feel this way,.....life is short, and we can hold grudges that carry on forever, or we can look at mistakes we made and move on.That to me makes better sense.
I read all these post here on the forum, and what I see is a "Steel Guitar Family",...Agree? Disagree? We all have the same thing in common,we love steel guitar,we love having a place to converse,we all pray for others that are sick,we all come here together for a reason. Good,Bad,whatever. We thank b0b for this opportunity to do so.Now.....its time to move on!
If a public apology is necessary for this, then I am the bigger person to do so.If I have done wrong by anyone its time to move on and say "I am sorry".If folks don't accept that? Then I can not help that...but I have moved on.I wish all the sites great luck in doing what they do.I respect what they do for the steel community. But I to... should be respected for what I am doing. Now its time that we move on.In doing so first the name will be changed in "The Original Steel Guitar Room".It has nothing to do with what was...It has everything to do with....what will be.
A room for all to sit and enjoy steel, play steel live,or just have a great conversation.A room for all members that is "family oriented".
A room where we can learn, teach and help. And above all be there when a young player that just bought a steel and needs information. There are upcoming steelers starting out that we want to carry on a "tradition".
We have lost many wonderful players the past few years.Their music was a gift to us,to hand down to kids that never knew them, or met them. This is why we do this!
How many young children(growing up now)know of The great "John Hughey","Jeff Newman","Jimmy Crawford",Hal Rugg"?
Children that have never heard of these greats! These are the ones that will be asking questions.Should they have places to find answers? Yes!
That is what these rooms are for. That is why we have a "Steel Guitar Forum" Its time to move on..and do whatever it takes as a steel community to keep this instrument that we love handed down to "our Future"
Thank-you.
God Bless,
