I saw Greg Leisz play this weekend, and from time to time he'd use a bullet made of glass. It was about the size of a ten-string bar, and there was an American Flag blown into the glass.

It sounded incredible. Does anybody have any idea who makes these and how to get them?

Thanks!

Adam

Why did you get to see him play?! You're from Boston!!! It's not fair.

I have no info on the bar, but now I want one, too. LOL. How do you think it affected his tone? Did he use it on the pedal or the lap? Thanks!

Loni Specter of Lapdancer guitars sells beautiful glass bars called SlipperySlides. Here's a link to his site and probably the bar you saw. http://www.lapdancerguitars.com/Lap_Gallery.htm

Thanks, Jerry. That's the one I saw. Gotta get one. It gave him this very lovely, almost sitar-like tone.

Greg does play one of my "Old Glory" limited edition solid glass bars. (sold out)
All the "SlipperySlides" have a ground edge that gives a Sitar-like effect when held properly. Glass in general has a more organic, sweeter tone. Of course sustain can be lessened due to lower mass and density.
Steinar Gregertsen also uses one on his great new CD. You can hear it on the track "God Only Knows"
You can see a pic of the "Old Glory" here http://lapdancerguitars.com/Lap_Gallery.htm

There will be no more of these made.
Regular bars are back ordered as well. I expect a new batch in a few weeks. Hand made in the USA of course.
