In a day or two I'll be ordering my first brand new guitar, a Rittenberry, and I need to pick a color. Any suggestions? So you know, I'm not getting black, red, or any wood grain type colors.I want something a little more uncommon. I want to do a 2-tone, one color on the aprons, one on the top deck. I've been looking at old cars and 50s vespa scooters for inspiration.....

not to be too snide, but if you can't even think of your own color choices, what can we expect of your musical creativity..? oh never mind...please forget i said anything...sorry... |

I am the proud owner of a newer Rittenberry and have another in the works. My present guitar is a teal green, very pretty and unusual. I never get tired of this color. The one on the way, well it is going to be classic black with polished aluminum. You won't be sorry no matter what the color with these fine guitars. Good Luck and Congratulations on choosing a Rittenberry! |

My only advice is someday you're going to want to sell that guitar and any funky color combo will make it slow to move.
I'm just sayin. |

If you ever should wish to sell the guitar, you will not regret buying either gloss black if it is mica, or blonde lacquer over birdseye maple if it is lacquer. |

I was looking for tail fins on that Carter.
I'm buying a a new PSG soon, and I've already decided to select a color that will make it easy to sell if, God forbit, that ever happens. It just so happens that I like those popular colors, such as black or wood grain. I've looked through the PSG's for sale on the Forum from time to time and will find something I might like, only to be turned off by an odd color. _________________ Steeless. |

Yellow and pink with orange stripes. Or, just get black. It seems everyone sells their great "tone-to-the-bone" steel in a few years anyway so you better look at resale. |

Honey birdseye mica on top & brown birdseye mica on front and back aprons. If I was ordering a new one today that would be the colors. Tomorrow it might be black over blue BE! Don't matter when they turn out the lights anyway. |

How about orange and black? Harley Davidson colors... or is that Briggs and Stratton. Either way, I think orange and black are cool together. Not that washed out orange, but a "hot" orange, like the Denver Bronco's Orange.
Just a suggestion...

All, interesting.
Dick-good point, but with any luck, I won't want to sell it...
Chris I. - What? Don't worry - instantly disregarded.
Actually, green is my favorite color, so that's a good possiblity, but I'm strongly considering something along the lines of what Cameron has or maybe a deep red/burgundy with a white or cream top. Anyhow, thanks for the suggestions. I'll make up my mind and pull the trigger on this while still can.
