This song has always been one of my all-time favorite cowboy tunes:
ALONG THE NAVAJO TRAIL
and the MP3 is here.

I played the 53 Fender Stringmaster Quad in this one - percussion by Trigger the Wonder Horse . .

Nice harmonics. That's one of my favorites as well. Trigger's percussion was very tasteful. Entirely too many drummers think they're the whole show. Very Happy

That was great Rick, I'm a big fan of cowboy music Smile

Once upon a time I didn't know the difference, then my dad took me to see the Sons Of The Pioneers, one of the best shows I've ever been to.

Rick,

This is one wonderful combination of a great song, awesome picking and a class vocal. I have to get this for "Swingin' West" airplay. In fact, I need this new CD. Great work, amigo!

Rick,

I will be looking forward to the CD. Thank You! Also thanks for the plug for "Swingin' West."

We must also remember that Leon McAuliffe and the Cimarron Boys did this beautiful tune in the late 1950s and a decade before Gene Krupa had a big band hit with this gem also.

Thanks Don - yippee kiyay!

Mike, I don't believe I've heard the Krupa version. I'll have to check that out.

Believe it or not, I learned it from a Roy Rogers 78 RPM record.

Rick,

Actually, I also had that Roy Rogers version first although I think Dinah Shore and the Bing Crosby/Andrews Sisters versions were the original hit versions. I heard Roy do it in the movie with the same title first and had to seek out that RCA Victor record.

Again, I love your version with the crooning and nice steel.

Another great song Rick!

Just be careful while playing cowboy songs and "stand-up steel playin"
You might end up like this guy.

Keep them doggies coming.
