I hope that this question will not get me deported from the forum... (just for the record, I do own and play an Emmons p/p)

I am trying to drill/route a new slot for a third pickup on a telecaster body. I know I will need a pickup template in order to drill it to the proper size but I am unsure what other variables should be factored in (wood, drill type, finishing, etc...)

Any info would be helpful and I appologize for the guitar post.

Quite a few people have a project on the go, both big and small. I like the thought of a projects section. It would make things easier to find.
