Here's the intro to the Tammy Wynette version, hopefully within a note or two. At the 10th fret it helps if you pick the first set of strings sequentially but fast starting with string 9.

Justin,

It also sounds a little more authentic if you pick the lower strings pretty hard to get more treble out of them. The part where it starts at the 10th fret and goes down to the 8th fret is also available from the 3rd to the 1st fret on strings 4,5 and 6. I don't think the original was played there but another consideration is that the flow is simpler starting at the 10th fret, sliding down to the 8th fret then continuing on at the 8th fret without having to move the bar. To me it sounds better played up higher as well.

Actually, I live near Reading. so I'm southeast of you by more than a crow can fly!
