I WAS GIVEN A MAGENTA BRAND RESONATOR. I CANNOT FIND ANYTHING OUT ABOUT THE BRAND, BUT I SUSPECT THAT IT IS AN ECONOMY CLASS. CAN ANYBODY PLEASE SHED LIGHT ON IT. IT HAS A NICE LARGE BODY. PICS ATTACHED (HOPEFULLY). George

Looks like a Japanese-made resonator guitar from the 1970s, if I had to guess. I'm not familiar with the Magenta brand name, but I've seen similar Japanese guitars with the biscuit-type bridge and dreadnaught body before. How does it sound to you?

Thanks Brad. The first resonator guitar I had was a nifty (but roundneck) Alcivar which was Japanese. It was quite good sounding. This one has been butchered a bit inside, so the sound is nothing special. I have given to our local luthier who will take a look at it. While it may be several weeks, I told him no rush, I'll report back on what the outcome is. Geo
