Please pray that our friends in Big Spring Tx. are safe, they were hit with a massive explosion early this morning at the refinery, I live 50 miles east of there and it took pictures off the wall and coffee cups off the table here. I thought we were in an earthquake, I am on the Fire Dept. here and we were put on stand by to head to Big Spring to help . We were just now put on stand down, thanks to the holiday, they were working a skeleton crew or else theres no telling of the outcome. I have heard homes have been damaged for miles and people are now being evacuated. God bless these people in this stressfull time.

Well, here we go again. We best fill our tanks today.Gas will be higher tomorrow. They use ANY excuse they can find to raise the price.

just got an email from some friends saying some of the service stations here are already shut down, no gas, you are right, here we go again, but if the refinery is found liable for the millions of dollars in damage to property for miles around the explosion there is no telling what gas will be here. But more importantly to me right now is the welfare of my many friends in Big Spring, thank God they only received property damage and were spared their lives.

Hopefully, there were no fatalities. Gas prices are of little consequence in an occassion like this when fatalities are possible. Hopefully all of our Forum people are OK and will check in and let us know. Jody.

The news on channel 13 in Houston says that 1 person is injured (I hope not bad) and in the hospital.
That thing sure is making a lot of smoke.

I did'nt see a rainbow although I am sure theres one there because no one was killed, but I did see a mushroom cloud that went thousands of feet in the air and I am 50 miles away! It looked like a documentry I once saw on TV about when they were testing the A Bomb out in Nevada. The manager of a local Do It Center here said it blew every door in the store open and scared customers silly. That store is 40 miles from the explosion site. Last report we have is several injured and two air lifted out for burns.

Good to know you are ok Fred, but let me que you in. Anytime something happens at one of those refineries down there be it an incident like what happened there or even a toilet backs up there our gas prices go up.

Fred my Friend.....

Not too often I post serious.......but in this case I will

1.....prob about thirty years ago...sitting crosslegged I twisted to pick up screwdriver and heard it crack......Ihave learned to be careful of it ever since...still goes out now and again

2......my wife woke up one time about ten years ago with back pain......still has trouble...lots of problems....cant work etc

3 Collegue at work in car smash in December.....two discs with fractures in Neck area and Bulging disc in lower back

I feel for you.............I am always careful of how I lift something........how I bend etc......sometimes I say..."No......I have a Crook Back.....cant lift that".......its a matter of swallowing male Pride........and saying "No .......I am not going to be an Invalide just through Pride!"

I even let young ladies lift what I as a Roughy Toughy Redneck Chauvanist Pig Should Do........There is only one way I want to Wreck my back....and I cant say it here !!!!!!
