Which knee lever change(Emmons setup) is the least commonly used?
Heres why I ask...
A fiend let me borrow his D10 Dekley w/1" lift to see if I really wanted to play steel before investing in my own guitar. Being a big/tall guy, it took me a few days to find a comfortable sitting/playing position and unfortunately I'm finding my right leg is right up against the leg of the guitar...no way I could work a knee lever to the right(think you call that RKR). So with that in mind, when I get a guitar of my own I'd want that "least common" lever to be where I'm not going to use it anyway.

I am 6 foot 5, so my suggestion would be, when you get your own guitar, get a 2 inch lift and your problems will be sloved. However, I personally dont know what the LEAST used lever would be. I can tell you this, there is TON of music to be made on 3 floor pedals and 2 E levers on the left leg. Thats all I basically ever use.....James

Ronnie, You might have to tip the guitar forward and lengthen the back legs a little to get it to work better for you. When you buy a ussed guitar, you can get a 2" lift kit. If you buy one new, the manufactuer can make it to accomodate your height, so you can play more comfortable. Also, you can buy a low profile volume pedal. Don't give up, there are some tall players around, maybe they will chime in and give you some advice, too.

Looks like James S. beat me to the post. Cool. Cool

What Mr. Morehead said... you would be surprised how far you can jack up the back legs and still make a go of it.

However, if you go that route, you will probably need to lower the height of the pedals a little bit.

Longer term, get a lift-kit.

Thanks for all the input guys. Hopefully I can buy my own soon cause I hate the thought of making any more adjustments to this loaner than I have to Winking
I've already raised the back legs up a hair, lowered the A pedal and put a LOT of slack in the knee levers so I can get under it.
